Alberto De Min holds a PhD in Nuclear and Subnuclear Physics from the University of Milan and an MBA in Finance and Corporate Management from HEC Lausanne. He spent twenty years at CERN in Geneva, working at the forefront of experimental particle physics, while teaching physics at the University of Padua, the Polytechnic University of Milan, and EPFL.
In the financial sector, he has advised on and managed equity investments for Lombard Odier Investment Managers, Strategic Investment Advisors, and Index Ventures. He also co-founded Preon Capital Partners SA, where he served as CEO for almost a decade (2014–2023), overseeing notable early-stage investments and successful exits, including Supercell, Advanced Accelerator Applications, Next Games, and NEWCLEO. He has covered management roles at GenomSys, Newcleo and Blykalla
Alberto De Min has co-founded several VC-funded startups spanning hardware (Spin-X Technologies), software (APM Technologies), and energy (Newcleo). During his career he has served on the board of APM Technologies, GenomSys, GenomSoft, Kizy Tracking, Newcleo Operations Ltd, Newcleo SA (CH), Rutschi Fluid, Augustus Capital AM, Preon Capital Partners, Preon SICAV RAIF and Audentia Capital.
His approach combines the analytical rigour of physics and statistics with a pragmatic understanding of corporate management and technology investing.
